Just got a new iX500 in for a client. This is the first I've seen of this particular model. Normally, we deal with the fi series and the last gen scansnaps. As soon as I open the box, I see this notice laying on top. Not that this is a huge issue, but really fujitsu?!

OMG! It gets better! Upon further unboxing, this is what I discover!

Your scanner won't function properly when using USB 3, so you include a USB 3 cable and port on the damn machine?! Yeah, that makes perfect sense.

I have seen this with a few different types of devices including AIO printers and storage devices. I honestly don't know whether it's the peripheral device at fault or the laptop. Honestly, I think it's the laptop because I've had situations where the device in question works fine on one brand laptop but won't even be recognised on another.

^^^ This.

Even fujitsu's printed USB 3.0 instructions/warning limit the problem to "some computers".
