Pretty much, yes, although Asda are a big competitor to Tesco here, and they are part of Walmart.
I think the only thing stopping Asda/Walmart opening something the size of their US 'warehouses' (seen a tweet saying "at Walmart and it's got weather!") is the fact that there just isn't a space that big in the UK.
