Ubiquitous Windows 8 Updates problem

Hi,

I have a client who is experiencing problems with With installing some of the Windows Updates. He is running Windows 8.1 on a Dell computer.

I have tried all the best practice Microsoft workarounds but to no avail. I think this is going to lead to a complete reinstallation of the operating system.

I would be interested to know how many others have experienced similar problems.

Hi,

Thanks for the lead. I tried the KUC tool but that didn't work. I wonder how many techs have had to reinstall Windows 7/8/8.1 because of some Windows updates not installing at all after following Microsoft best practices.

I have a machine in the office for two days with the same issue. After uninstalling kap antivirus and rebooting twice. It finally accepted one update. Rebooting and it is taking updates again.
