Tried all the windows 8 i have it keeps asking for key, read key from bios tried entering it says it can't verify key it was shipped with windows 8.1 pro not sure why i am having problems.
Have reloaded plenty of lenovos before with no issues.

You said your trying to load windows 8. Do you have a Windows 8.1 iso? Might try that if you've not done so. Might be worth a shot installing Windows 10 and seeing if it activates.

the license is 8.1 pro did try the 8.1 cd from Microsoft didn't work ended up using recovery USB utility from Lenovo turns out it is windows 8.1 RTM Core OEM DM.

Why not load Windows 10?
I haven't re-installed Windows 8 or 8.1 for years.

Maybe the customer didn't want it? Even as much of an upgrade as it would be, a lot of people like to get pissy about the dumbest things.

My grandfather used to live in a somewhat "nicer" trailer park in a suburb of Pittsburgh. His neighbor would get good and jacked if my grandfather cut any of the grass belonging to this guy. Essentially each yard was about 1/4 of the land behind your trailer and 3/4 of the land in front of your trailer. The guy behind them just cut the whole lot on that side, they were good friends... it was an extra two min of work with the push mower. The guy in front of them, however, would get all good and bent out of shape if any of the grass "belonging to him" on the back side of his trailer got cut by my grandfather.

My grandfather new enough not to do it, but as a young kid I was bored and easily entertained by a lot so I wanted to do the mowing.... my grandfather goes in the shed for something and comes out hollering to stop.. terribly confused I stopped thinking I was doing it wrong? Nope... just really close to making the guy next door angry. Never did meet the guy.. but if anyone wanted to come cut some of my grass for free I'd sure not be upset about it.

So yeah, people are weird and if you do something like upgrade to Win 10 without them granting permission... your asking for it.

Sure.
I just threw it out there because some people, even in this forum, don't realise you can clean-install Windows 10 and it will activate using the embedded Windows 8 license, or digital entitlement if that computer has been upgraded before, or a Windows 7/8 product key.
My grandfather...
Cute story :)

I always ask, and mention that the consensus is Windows 10 is far better to use than Windows 8, and that in hindsight the Windows 8 user interface was a failed experiment. I always get permission to install Windows 10 instead. Sometimes you need to give a strong recommendation if you know it will be appreciated eventually.
