1) Go to DOS-prompt ( before going into windows)
2) type the following---->

debug (enter)
o 70 2E (enter) <---NOT a "zero"..it is the O, in O DEAR!
o 71 20 (enter)
q (enter)

then just restart

No...Get a dos boot cd or stiffy...You need to get to the dos prompt, unless the cmos doesnt allow you to
boot from a cd OR stiffy even

I would just like to know what to short - there are so many chips/pins

Oh and the challenge response code - called toshiba - they will not fix it for free - 3 digit cost!! Will try to argue with supervisor next week.
Is there a backdoor for the response code?

Did you try to boot from Dos via a disk, or couldnt you get in?

You cannot boot from anything.
There are only 2 ways in
1) Short the bios so that it forgets the information on it (not battery because the information is stored in rom)

2) Get the challenge code - but this is going to cost $150 from toshiba

I found a 3rd party site that does it for $85US - thinking about it if I cant get the short to work.

Some toshibas _can't recall the models_had a problem with the bios on it's own deciding to ask for a password. When it does that there is no password which will work. It has to be cleared by removing the ram, removing a small sheet of black plastic, then shorting two very small solder dots and turning it on.

I don't have the link handy but I found the info and diagram with Google. It took me several tries because those points are really small and you have to short them, ground them, and turn on the machine all at the same time.
