So I used/still kinda do work at Officemax, I had the opportunity to watch CTRL Center (support.com) do a remote clean-up. The tool they used is actually pretty cool for what it does, It has everything on 1 screen. From what they call a pre-flight check to scans, removing, and installing.

So I thought what a great idea for a tool for us to use. Its small and lightweight, quick and easy. The thing is I'm no where close to knowing the way to make it, so I'm hopeing a fellow technibbler will be able to help or point me the right way to bring the tool to the community, to share with everyone for the low price of Free I hope:D.

Maybe as going to the point of making it a branded tool with a few custom perks. I did take pictures with my phone, and I don't want to post them as I want to keep it in wraps so if you want to see them or even know more on how it worked PM me. I'm am all about sharing and helping once its done and ready for testing.

Support.com also uses the same program with Staples (obviously rebranded of course). It is programmed in AutoIT. You might want to look into it.

Wow! I was just checking out support.com sort of. Ran into a video of them using their software. It was called the Solutions Toolkit. I think that software would be very very useful. I've been looking into because I do remote support to and I was looking to setup a package of tools to use on every remote support session. I would be very interested in doing this. Do they leave it on the computer after they are done? If so, you could look into seeing what it all does. Let me know. Talk to you later.

I am going to go check it out...... If they are using it local on your computer you could always sign up for a "service" and then pull the plug........ Now you have it.

I actually did pull the plug :) but I only was able to snoop around and had to reconnect with the tech.

Ya the 3 office supply giants are trying to use the same vendors i'm sure officedpot has them to. But Ill forward the pictures I have but if a video is up im sure it be better then the stuff I snapped.

But a tool similar to it with options to customize to your talents as a tech, and maybe something hosted, like I said I have very low skills in programming so any help would be great or even someone who wants to make it and I will help do whatever is needed.

Basically a Launcher

Thanks Corbin. Wow! There really is not much to it really. It looks as thou most of it is just shortcuts to other programs. Its basically a launcher tool for other seperate programs or basically registry tweaks. I thought there was more to it. I would imagine that someone could build something like this very easily. I probably could using a html and have a web interface to it. I would want it to be more hidden on the tools used because if I'm using this remotely then my customers will see what I'm using. Then the curious customers will try to tackle their problems on their own. I don't know how to program in any other language. I learned visual basic like 10 years ago and don't remember a thing now. If you don't use it, you loose it. I did. Let me know plans. Talk to you later and take care.

Just the ones I had, I think I may pick up the officemax version next week and just set up my zi8 to record it, its actually a pretty fast and efficient process.

Maybe not 100% what you're after, but I would be honored if you and others would like to check out D7 which I've discussed in this thread: http://www.technibble.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26942
