I handle the IT/MSP side for my clients and I full stop at any Web Developer stuff. I have a client who is trying to heavily push into AI basically trying to integrate AI into every single facet of their org.

ChatGPT - Yes
Claude - Yes
Copilot - Yes

They are basically blindly integrating any form of AI into their systems.

They sent me this request and I'm not familiar with ANY part of this and I think these requests lie firmly in the hands of their Web Developer. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Client Email:
We’re attempting to make our site AI agent accessible and have been recommended to take the follow actions.

Markdown Negotiation: Requires server-side config so the site responds differently to AI bots - Cloudflare Worker or hosting-level change

Web Bot Auth/Request Signing: Publishing a JWKS cryptograpic key - developer task, info flag only

WebMCP: Requires custom JavaScript implementation on the site

I'm like ... huh?

If it was me I'd look at it like this. Not a one of those tasks, etc are even vaguely familiar to me so you are talking to the wrong person. You need to talk to your LoB, DB, CRM, etc, etc providers. I'd also recommend that you really don't want to "help", even for a fee. I've had a couple of situations in the last 2-3 years that were similar. It was all software. And other than OS's and typical business apps I don't write code. There was a lot of blow back when they got invoices for my time.

Are you in charge of their website's infrastructure at all? Sounds like serving content as Markdown could just be as easy as turning it on https://developers.cloudflare.com/fundamentals/reference/markdown-for-agents/

But yeah, otherwise sounds like stuff for web dev

The only involvement I've had in their website is changing the A record when they went live.

If I can't accomplish all of these requests then I don't want to do a single one of them because then I'll get roped into more stuff I know nothing about.

Yeah ... I thought I had gone crazy or something like these are all bullet points I'm supposed to be familiar with ... it might as well be in a different language as far as I'm concerned ... never heard of this stuff.

I don't envy their web guy! He probably thought he could slap together a WordPress site and call it good ... little did he know...

Yeah, doesn't sound like your problem at all then

idk, it's kinda like how stuff like mobile friendly websites came into demand. Nice to have a client requesting it and paying you to learn about it and then you can advertise that you can provide those kinds of things. (For the web developer)
