Years back I worked for a mom and pops shop that in addition to the standard 1 year warranty they offered, customers could opt in for an additional 3 - 5 years of coverage through a 3rd party company. This company acted more or less as an insurance provider, as the computer was not limited to repairs at just the one store. We sold the service local in the shop, filled out the paper work, and faxed it off. The prices varies on how much the newly built computers cost, and the estimated value of any computer people brought in to by a warranty on. Also, the company gave a commission bonus to shop, which was in turn passed on to the employee who made the sell. But for the life of me, cannot remember the name of the company.
To the question, have any business owners out there used services like that before? If so what was your general experience with the service?
