Well, it's been real. Unfortunately, I'm stepping out of the business entirely. I'm just not enough of a self-promoter to make it in this sort of thing ... If people were more educated, and understood what good work looks like, I would do fine. Unfortunately, people believe whatever you feed them, for the most part ... I just can't take it.

I've applied for a bunch of menial labor jobs, a few minimum-wage fast food jobs, and lots of random things ... I've had three or four interviews. My new problem seems to be that my work history is now actually harming my chances of getting a low-level position, and my lack of self-promotional skills harms my chances of a higher-level one. Awful.

I'm in the same boat Parker! Not a good self promoter. I have a lot of compitition in the area too, 2 retail shops and a lot of techs running things from their houses in my area.

My plan is to keep my business going part-time and get a IT job, try and get some server experience under my belt. Maybe in a few years I can switch back to my job.

My suggestion to you would be to keep at it, at the very least just part time, eventually it will pick up again... anything could happen!

Wouldnt expect them to hire you for a fast food job but how about like call center tech support type stuff?
