Telstra NextG and wifi

I have a customer with a Telstra NextG Sierra Wireless 312U USB modem who wishes to run a wifi router. I did a bit of research and discovered, well, not much. There are companies who claim to have such a router and reviews that claim they don't work. Conversely there are people who claim a given router will work even though the company explicitly says it will not.

Eventually after reading reviews I tried a TP-Link TL-MR4320 3G-4G Wireless N Router but this didn't work.

So does anyone have direct experience getting this modem working with a wifi router?

looks like a battery only job for taking on the road. ie doesn't plug into the wall, therefore not an option.

lol I think the same issue I was having, trying to plug in this piece of crap Sierra 4g device into a Router to act as an access point.

tnx. i'm thinking a whole new 4g wireless wifi modem hotspot thing is the go. i've come across a few and they seem to work ok. something like:
