So I am starting a project where I will be slowly (free time is like gold) be building a Technician's Black Box.
It will be housed in a dead PSU enclosure, and feature the following:
USB Hub
USB to DVI
USB to Ethernet
USB to WiFi
Card Reader
Power Relay (+5V USB 1A)
Power Relay (+12V)
Flash Drive (Bootable)
I'm looking for ideas on making this even better. The idea behind this was it would be a one plug in many abilities box for a tech station. I could even possibly have this as a default Hub on all my stations as it brings verified hardware to the game, so if something messes up it's almost 99% of the time software.
The box will re-use the mains connector from the old PSU, and connect to a HP Thin Client PSU which can supply 12V 4A, which then goes to a Buck Converter to power the USB Hub & Charge Port.
Cost wise it's fairly cheap as I have most of these hubs etc laying around doing nothing.
Ideas?
