Hi, I like using Supremo but wanted to be able to reboot in safe mode with networking, I put together a simple reg file I merged to the registry to start its service in safe mode with networking, it works, but for some weird reason it boots in safe mode with a different host ID, then I cannot connect unless the host gives me the new ID. I reboot to normal mode and it goes back to original ID I got to begin with on the host. Everytime I go into safe mode it launches with the same second ID, anybody explain why this is? The only thing I can think of is when I chose to install it as a service in options it added a second ID somehow, but why it only appears in safe mode??

What is the information that you're adding to the registry?

I just tested it myself and I got the same ID on every reboot, safe mode or normal.

Did you install it as a service too? When I did that from the options menu and added a password a new installer opened up like it was installing the program again. heres what I merged:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SafeBoot\Network\Supremo Service]
@="Service"

I'm going to go look for temp files and delete them.

i know usb wifi adapters can change teamviewer id on reboot, perhaps its relevant?

not in this case, but thats good to know. But today Supremo updated and now is no longer free and does not allow service install without paying for it, guess I'll look into something else, blah.

Yeah, when I installed as a service it kept the same ID. Then I added it to the registry (doing essentially the same as your registry key... just manually) rebooted, SupremoStarted up and had the same ID. I restarted normally, same ID, restarted with safe/network boot, same ID.

weird, I don't know what happened, I dumped it now since the upgrade today won't allow installing it as a service for the free version at all, so I just wasted my time but I am going with Ammyy now.

178€ is $246CAD ... I've only pulled it out a few times as a fallback to ScreenConnect. Oh well.

Forget Supremo, the dev has got to greedy. I emailed him a while back and told to look at the other remote apps.

I feel its to slow, maybe faster on paid, however i would sooner use IHC, Ammyy or Team viewer, even my ultra vnc is faster than supremo.

I wish him good luck, his other software uranium backup rocks.

I like Ammyy so far, and I know I won't go over 30 hrs a month

with Ammyy, if you get the paid version. You can customise the exe with a login set password when starting support and you can change the icon add a url.

The password stops anyone trying to login when installed on service etc as it will ask for a password when attempting a support session, after you enter the user ID. Pretty good.
