Hiya

I downloaded super antispyware the other day and it didnt download properly for some reason. The icon is stuck on my desktop, when I try delete it, it jst says the file is open in another program but I uninstalled it off my comp its just the icon... can someone help??

Thanks Debbie.

Go to msconfig and check to see if it's opening on startup (selective startup tab). If it's there disable it, reboot, delete the icon.

If it still will not delete you can try this neat program.

Search google for Unlocker Assistant.

it is not that we are being rude, and I do apologize if I came off this way, but this forum is made for a specific type of audience and is not a general user help forum.

From the forum rules:
No End Users
These forums are for either current computer technicians, or soon to be computer technicians. We do not provide computer help to any non-technicians .

From the problem you posted, if you are currently a computer technician or will soon be, then you need some serious experience before charging for your work and if you are already charging, I would ask you to consider stopping.

The problem you described is something that a computer technician should be able to fix fairly easily unless there are other reasons behind it, but you have not provided any information to diagnose any additional problem other than you are trying to delete a file that is in use.

If you contact SuperANTISpyware, I am sure they will be willing to help you for free. However, the members of this forum make their living charging for computer support to home users and businesses. Some members of the forum do remote support and will be glad to help you that way if you wish to ask for it.

If you are having trouble simply deleting a stubborn file, one easy way out is to download 7-zip, run the File Manager component from the Start Menu, and delete the file from within it. If that doesn't work, you may need to unlock a locking handle via Unlocker. Be careful when installing Unlocker not to install any ancillary software it is bundled with. I'd post links to the free utilities but I apparently cannot do so until I have more posts under my belt.

This should solve your problem. However, these are not support forums!

SUPERAntiSpyware Uninstaller Assistant

You could try the SUPERAntiSpyware Uninstaller Assistant.

If that doesn't work try reinstalling SuperAntiSpyware, when the install wizard launches, you will be presented with the options to "Modify", "Repair", or "Remove". Select "Remove" and follow the wizard to completion.

Reboot your PC immediately after the uninstall has completed. If you do not reboot your PC, the uninstall may be unsuccessful.

SUPERAntiSpyware FREE Edition installer

SUPERAntiSpyware Professional Edition installer

If you receive any errors during the uninstall process, refer to SAS's FAQ on issues with the Windows Installer.

Post back if you get it fixed.

This is a forum for computer technicians and it is not in our best interest to help end users here because its something we make a living out of. If you like, you can find a technician here that is in your area to come help you for a fee.

If you are a computer technician, the others have given you plenty of technician level advice so I am closing this thread.
