Strange Printer Issue

I'm having an issue with 2 separate XP SP3 workstations on a Windows 2003 domain printing to a Canon Imagerunner 3235.

The printer is a networked shared Canon Imagerunner 3235 all the other workstations in the office can print no problem to this printer.

The troubled 2 workstations can see the printer, they have permission to print to the printer, they can even send to the printer and it clears the print queue like it printed, but the problem is the printer turns on and it gears up to print but nothing comes out.

I've checked the event log on the computers and there isn't any errors or warnings. I've check the log on the Canon Imagerunner 3235 and it logs the transaction but states 0 of 0 sheets printed. I've downloaded the most current Canon's PS3 drivers for the printer and replaced them on these two workstations, I've also logged in as administrator and tried printing without success. These workstations can print to other network shared printers in the office no problem just not the Canon.

Any ideas?

Disclaimer: Don't mind my lack of printer terminology, I am not a printer guy, but I can try to paint you a picture.

I have actually had this issue before. The whole print job goes through with no errors or indications of a problem, the printer cycles as if it is going to print, but never prints. That was my issue with a networked printer.

The fix (where my lack of printer terminology will shine): The printer in question was a HP LaserJet 2420. This bad boy had one paper tray, the problem was it would not correctly feed the paper. It seems some sort of spring popped out of the tray that pushes the paper up to be fed. So what I did was fully load it with paper and it started printing. I then gave them the number of my printer guy, and he confirmed the issue.

Moral of the story: Try filling up the tray to maximum capacity.

I did try with new reams in each tray. I also double checked the output tray properties in the software.

Has anybody had any further input on this one?

I have a client today with an imageRunner 330n black and white copier, which he has networked.
When we try to add the printer to his laptop (XP Pro), it comes up with an error saying it does not have permission to access the printer.

We are trying to add \\CANON_330\Print to the system.
XP Pro SP 3, Lenovo, P4, 2GB, 320GB.

I logged into the copier, and only found options to edit the printer spool/history... nothing about blocking/firewall/permissions/etc.

Can somebody give me an idea of what to try next? No idea where it would be blocking... Firewall on pc is disabled.

Try resetting the permissions on the laptop (D7). If that doesn't work I'd have another look at the configuration interface of the copier to make sure you didn't overlook something the first time. Is it possible for you to reset the config of the copier back to default to test? Is the copier installed as local or networked?

Network Printer

Does the printer have a static IP?

Were you able to ping the printer?

Is the laptop/printer on the same network/domain?

If it's on a workgroup did you install the printer using the IP address or the hostname?

When you logged into the copier, did you do it through a web browser using the copier's IP address or did you do it directly from the panel?

Is there a Group Policy in place?

Will the moderators please split this thread at post 4 as the previous poster is answering the op and that appears to be a dead thread?
