Startup programs

so now i am thinking I need .iso versions of Win 7, 8, and maybe XP or Vista. Just to have to boot into if i find myself in front of one of these machines. I could use a cracked version off a torrent. But that is prob infected with something or another.

Any ideas on how to get these ISO's? Do I have to buy a copy just to have CDs of these OSs?

In Windows 10 (and probably in Win 8 too ... So rarely do I see 8, I can't remember) Task Manager has a 'Startup' processes tab.

I'm not sure why you would need these to make changes to Startup programs but this tool will download the ISOs for you, directly from Microsoft's servers:

Also, Windows 10 is really the only desktop OS ISO you need now. Anything older should be upgraded/replaced. Arguably Windows 8 is the exception, which has a few years yet before EOL, but personally I'd upgrade those too. 8 was just some half-arsed unfinished pre-release of Windows 10 IMO.

Ever heard of this thing called 'Google'?

I have a few ISO images for Windows 10 64 bit, 32 bit and Windows 8.1 64 and 32 bit on an Iodd device. Buy it on Amazon. Also have ISO images for Acronis and Aomei rescue disks on there to image a system. I have a 500 gb SSD in it You can boot to which ever ISO you choose on it.

IODD is great, I also have Gandlaf's PE on it and FABS. So I can backup a system without having to boot into it's own Windows.

I'm sure he has but, as a startup technician, asking people more experienced than you seems like a safer strategy.

I totally agree with you. Unfortunately we have several people on here that seem to think that they are the Prophets of computer repair. We all had to start somewhere. I for one have been involved in electricity, electronics and computers for over 50 years collectively and I still have to ask questions and look for other peoples advice.

I really believe Bryce started Technibbles to help fellow computer technicians, not a place to humiliate and ridicule.

I hear you. It was not really a question of course. So that may have come across as very grumpy which TBH it was.

I am all for helping each other out. My rhetorical question addressed IMO all very google-able and also basic questions that appeared to be fired in rapid succession.

Edit: I'd like to add that I normally only comment on topics I know a thing or two about and hardly behave like a PC repair prophet. I also have a problem with those generic remarks 'some people'. Either address to those people or don't bring it up at all.
