So.. whats all this about something called squareup? I saw it on a business plan thread and was like "Hmm lets google this.." anyway, I kind of get what it does but to be honest the site doesnt explain much so i figured id come here and see what you all know about it.

Is it any good?
Do customers feel safe using it?
Have you had any issues?
Is it available in all countries (im UK)

The site is https://squareup.com if you dont know what im going on about.

Thanks.

Been using it for about 10 months now. Got a free "swiper" for the Android phone. Rates are good and beat (I dropped) the Pay Pal $30 a month for Virtual Terminal.

Customer signs their charge on my phone and a receipt is sent to their phone or email.

I think it's great. No monthly fees, so you just pay a fixed rate when you use it.

Most customers think its amazing that you can swipe the cards on your phone. I even had one customer take a picture of it to send to a friend!

The only time I had an issue, was when i couldn't get a signal on my cell.

Unfortunately i think it is US only (but i could be wrong)

I had it for less than a year. Only used it about a dozen times. It's cheap and reliable and best of all the hardware is free.

Most of my accounts are small business 30 days terms, It's perfect for someone like me who doesn't use it a lot. No monthly or minimum fee.

Works fine IF you DISABLE tips. If you disable tips your customers may get charged different amounts, sometimes 3 times as much as the normal charge, as 5 of my customers were charged.

although I charged a card $1600, and was charged around $55 :( but its still cheaper than $30 since I dont do that every day.
