Square! Discuss...

Mine is setup and it doesn't take out fees on what it transfers. I use register app on iPad.

I love Square, and I use it. I really like their chip reader (the non-contactless one). But I hate that the invoicing (and register) lack fractional quantities for people who provide hourly services. I bill incrementally by the half hour for on-site work after the first hour and I bill quarter-hourly for remote. I had to add "products" to my inventory of "On-Site Repair Labor (1 Hour)" and "On-Site Repair Labor (1/2 Hour)" for register.

For invoicing, I typically have to make a custom item for each line item with a quantity of 1 "Service Call on 6/20/2016 (2.5 Hours)"

When responding to a support request, they've provided no indication that they want to change this.

They just added recurring automatic invoicing

Seriously? I've been waiting for this! In fact, I was just on the site the other day to see if it was active. Time to log back in!

They do claim its a prohibited business (https://stripe.com/gb/prohibited-businesses - point 51) but I can probably get around this by being B2B (??).

Learn something new every day.

Good thing we do consulting and business services, and not 'personal computers' ;)

My wife has used Square for some time now and she loves it. Money is her account in three days. I'll be looking at it myself.

I have to agree here with you. Its something I have gotten use to though since the remaining features are quite nice. I just create custom 1/2 hour; 1 hour business or customer labor respectively. My clients dont seem to mind how its broken down.

We used QB Point of Sale for 13 years and just switched to Square about a month ago. So far, this is so much better in most aspects. The rates are cheaper, it has a ton of modern features that QB didn't offer, and it just looks more "high-tech" sitting at the front counter. We mainly switched due to the EMV chip compliance, but there are several additional benefits we've gained by dumping QB POS.
