Alright, after spending hours searching around for this thing for a client. I am wondering if any of you techs out here can help. The client refuses to give up this laptop... they've replaced the HD, and the keyboard twice... but even though it's dead/dieing they won't give up. So I need to find a docking station for this thing, anyone have a clue where I can get one?

Docking stations normally cost $100-$200 so to buy one just so you can troubleshoot someones machine is ridiculous.

You just need to tell your client that you won't be able to properly make a precise diagnosis without being able to thoroughly test the machine with all equipment in your workshop, where you will be more properly equipped.

And in those exact words cause it sounds very professional, lol

Not the test kind of docking station. This is one of those little crap docks that when you bought the Sony's came with. They love this machine even though I gave them a great price on a newer model, they won't give it up.

If it is an actual sony branded docking station then it is still in the $100-$200 range. Only thing I know you can get for less is those kensington docking stations which are basicly USB devices.

I just remember seeing some Sony docks around that price range and every dock branded for a specific manufacture I have come across is in that range. I should note I am refering to true docksthat use a docking port built into the laptops and not port replicators.

Also is this the laptop we are talking about?

Assuming I have the right model here is a quick search result for that dock and it is priced $200-$500
