I need to replace the keyboard in a Sony Vaio laptop. Anyone happen to know where I can get info on this model before I have to take it completely apart? I know Google is my friend, but not today apparently.

Model Number PCG-51412L

Product Name VPCY21EFX

You know Google only works if you put in search terms and hit the "Google Search" button, right?

I put in "PCG-51412L disassembly" and the FIRST RESULT is a video of a complete teardown of the machine.

other search terms you might also try before deciding that Google is "not working":

[model] teardown
[model] "service manual"
[model] "technician guide"

Looks like maybe one screw and unclip it. YouTube pcg 51412.

Yep you dont need to disassemble this machine to fit a keyboard to it.

Just remove the screw(s) from the back (could be a picture of a keyboard next to the relevant ones) and then lever the keyboard at the front of the machine.

You will soon see if you have missed any screws.

Rinse and repeat until it comes off then reverse to install the new one.
