This reminds me of getting Doom to run on various devices as some kind of hacker/maker right of passage. I'll bet this app would run on one of those new snapdragon pcs, though. That might be an interesting and more reasonable setup.

Of course, because there's one born every minute. They're also going to be their own support tech, that's for sure!

I do find this sort of thing fascinating as a sort of thought exercise/fun hack, but anyone who thinks that a smartphone could ever serve viably in this role, well . . .
 
If it allowed you to setup a network of old devices and use them as one large drive then this would be a cool fun things for tech people though not terribly practical in the mass market. The technology to combine system could but using it on junk hardware is more of a fun project for the enthusiast crowd. Still a nifty thing but yeah phones aren't something I would try and turn into that but the software does have options on computers which would allow for more practical uses.
