So Over Screenconnect!

Kasperksy doesn't allow most remote software to interact with it. It's not simple a screen connect fault. I know with Windows, if you forgot to allow interaction, you can remotely edit the registry (using a backend tool) and disable it. Not sure what one can do with a mac.
Could you please give more details about the registry editing to allow Kaspersky interaction?

Thanks in advance.

One thing about working on Macs, which is also true of TN, is that most things are Windows centric. This is understandable given the large amount of Windows machines out there.

It's a good idea to check the Mac experience of a software vendor before committing to them. It's hard to rely on providers that dabble in Mac or do it as an afterthought. Actualy, the same could be said for repair techs.

I just moved my Screen Connect to Azure and its working really well. I have a Microsoft Action Pack that entitled me to $100 credit a month. So i thought why not use it - set up the most basic Azure plan possible and Screen Connect runs pretty well.

If you have an Action Pack license it maybe an idea for you to try.
There is some good guides on the Screen Connect Support site that explain how to move installs from one server to another.

Last Time I tried this, this is what I edited in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\KasperskyLab\protected\AVP80\settings\EnableSelfProtection. Value=0

This is a good read:

@dimosgmx... that is what I call a truly ironic statement. Now that Meekah has retired some users ;) of ScreenConnect may have an increased TCO

Not sure what you are implying but I own two licenses of Screen Connect. If I am curious about how something is achieved or works is a different story.

And I should mention for the benefit of others that since their "merge" with ConnectWise it is not as reasonably priced anymore and no more call in support which is what made ScreenConnect amazing. They used to have instant help. Thankfully I have a grandfathered license and can still purchase my self hosted licenses at the old rates. I have tried it yet but I was told that before ConnectWise "cut" the call in support.

Software still works awesome and hopefully it will stay that way.

I came here just to agree. Screenconnect has been a great cross-platform tool for us. They have made a massive amount of updates to it since this post, so please try it out again!
