Shop Manager Software

Defintely worth it. We've had it for a couple of months now and all the staff love it. Support is awesome too and they have even put in some features that we have suggested/requested! :-)

Yup it's a very nice package. It's developed by one of the members on Technibble. I can't recall the username (I think he's Australian), but I'm sure it won't be long before he posts.

I love the software , highly recommend it . We ditched commit for this , cause of ease of use. Reporting is nice and simple , the support is fast.

Also easy to teach staff how to use.

It would've been sooner, but football got in the way ;)

Thanks for the recommendations guys, it's much appreciated :)

Has anyone ever used this program:

I want to buy it, but before I do I want to know if its worth it.

Thanks!
I'd say it's totally worth it, but I am a little biased...

Your welcome software is working great. Start modifying the items so I can use it for my mobile phone repair side of my business.

Cause we also have that in our business so ,want to use it cause I love software

At the moment it's limited to 3 different 'item' types (which can be customised in sm_lang), though it shouldn't be too much effort to have it unlimited-ly customisable... leave it with me and I'll see if I can include it with the next update.

Great, and in future any plans to include barcodes for serial numbers etc when you book in a pc.

It's not yet on the to-do-list, but I can certainly add it. For future reference, if you have any ideas or feature requests, please feel free to open a ticket and I'd be happy to see if it can be included. :)

been looking into this software, and had a few questions, maybe Robert or someone using it can help me out here.

Tax, the demo include VAT in price and adjusts accordingly. If i want to add 5% tax on parts only, and not labor, is this something i can setup or would i have to add it manually each time? Also, completly eliminate the VAT

If any US based techs are using it, please let me know how well it adjusts to us type tax/currency/ addresses etc.

Also, how well do the CSV files import into quickbooks?

Thanks in advance

Yes, if you go to 'Admin -> Tax', and click the edit icon, you can see you can set a different rate (or 0) for parts, labour and general (invoices). You can also set different rates for different states, have inclusive or exclusive pricing, and compound pricing if you have multiple tax rates. (And of course changing the name 'VAT' to anything else).
Or, if there are no tax rates set, then no tax will be charged :)

Probably 2/3 of the people who are using SM now are from the US, and it's been a while since I've had any feature requests for anything region specific.
(Language files are planned for v4 so you could change 'Postcode' to 'ZIP' and what-not)
Also, how well do the CSV files import into quickbooks?
That's one I can't answer. I am re-writing the invoicing system for v4, and am planning to have a better export system for QB/MYOB.
Thanks in advance
NP. :)

According to their website ranks, I don't believe that ShopManager is a popular software.

What's that supposed to mean?

He said ranking, but didn't mention what ranking.
Google page ranking is not that relevant.
Code:
http://mysm.co/
It's the keywords ranking that's important in Google.
On Alexa, the site is ranked 3,182,795 in the world with no other data.
Google page rank is zero out of ten "0/10".
At least a 1 would be better. He needs to do some SEO work.

By the way, how long ago was the version 1 released?
Seems the versions are coming out really fast.... a bit too fast for natural evolution of a software.

I thought we gave up on caring about pagerank years ago...

The mysm.co site is only about a month old, so I don't really expect miracles - that said, it already has a reasonable amount of traffic (considering the very minimal advertising).

v1 & v2 were both never released to the public. v3 is the first publicly released version. You can see a full changelog since v3.0 here: http://sm.ifetch.com.au/user_guide/changelog.html

I will admit I am a tad generous with the version numbers - I don't like bugs to be un-fixed for any period of time, so a lot of the minor releases have been small bug fixes, or minor feature additions.

ShopManager is now used in over 10 countries around the world - that still amazes me to think that someone is using a program I built in Greenland!

Statistics and Reporting

The statistics/reporting and finance sections of my Shop Manager software give me 404 errors...any help available? I searched the internet, this forum, and the iFetch KB...no luck.

I should note that I'm hosting the software on my own server.

Have you logged a support ticket on the my.iFetch website?
I've found the response time on there is really quick.
