Service Plans

When I think about offering service plans I can't help but think about the junk BB always tried to sell me every time I buy something, and how much I hate it.

This month I've had 5 systems that barely ran simply because they were missing service packs, updates, never defragmented, and we're full of adware, spyware, and other gunk. I'm amazed at how often people cripple their system by simply forgetting (or not knowing how) to do the simple maintenance items.

I decided to make a video of how slow the system I'm working on now is before and after a good maintenance routine. Then I'm going to post them on my website as an example of how much difference simple maintenance can make! People like me are often skeptical of 'service plans'. Anyone else ever tried this approach? Did it help?

Some video proof like that could help many of us if we come across skeptics.

Here's an idea because i think we are all in the same boat. Managed anything is so new people are scared and mistrusting. I bet if you made a good video you could sell it to shops like me. I know i would pay for it. Just think of podnutz same sort of idea but with teaching end of it or the ultimate tech site with websites. We all have our strengths but we cant be experts in everything. Like me i am not the most creative so i source it out. I think it is a needed service and could turn something you need and would spend time on anyway into a nice profit.

Unfortunately my before video didn't turn out very well. I'll be try some different setups and will try again on the next one. I'll keep you posted.
