G day all,

I've got a problem with a customers exchange setup. the problem is if I send the customer an email and they reply I don't get it and there is no bounce or did not deliver message back to the customer. the funny thing is if they create a new email it will be delivered.

A bit of back ground, my email domain was on their server (with their permission) like 10 years ago. It was find on the old SBS 2003 server but after the MS migration to SBS 2008 this started to happen. I can't see any reference to my domain in exchange.

Regards

Tim

Possibly not in Exchange but have you checked DNS records for any reference to your domain?

Edit: Sorry just re-read taptech's post and that's probably what it is. Check the global address list and also any cached emails for your domain (aka nicknames) in Outlook and delete any that may be there.

Dig into their ESM and look for your domains recipient policy...it's probably a secondary recipient policy still in there. So their Exchange still thinks it "owns" your domain...therefore e-mail destined for your domain stays internal.

YeOldeStonecat on there isn't a reference to my domain in the recipient policy, first thing I checked but also doesn't explain why it's keeping the replies but any newly created emails will come through.

taptech, I'll check next time I'm onsite

I'll let you know.

You've looked at one of the replies they've tried sending and it definitely has the correct email address?

like always, when I was hoping to problem solve this I've became flat out. I've checked the there addresses and have delete and re entered and still an issue, the global address book doesn't have an entry but I've tried creating an contact in the recipient policy, which put the address in the global address book, but still the same issue. I find it strange that it's just on replying emails not on new emails.
