Have a desktop with a DOA drive.
I tried a vareity of software to get access to the drive. No luck.
Then I booted into Knoppix, and when I rebooted, after a clean linux shutdown. I get the following error message.

analyzing media type: ok
rpl-rom-adr: 000c 765a 96fd
rpl-rom-irq: 11
rpl-rom-pio: d800
rpl-rom-ffc: xx

where xx is it counts from 00 to 50.

It now loops continuously.
