Hi guys, I just received a package from Robin Robins and a fresh $1 bill attached. I skimmed through it and all the promises to streamline my MSP / IT business.

I searched the forums and see some assorted comments from nibblers saying they tried it, got some value from it or think of it as spam.

So has anyone had any success from whatever packages she sells? Can anyone recommend the toolkit or give me any feedback?

I've been marketing at all fronts the last few months and willing to try anything a this point.

AMEX just sent me a remote control helicopter but without the remote. If I am willing to have them over for a chat to sell me stuff, they will bring the remote so I can play with it. The thing is a piece of junk so I threw it out, besides I already have a remote control helicopter. :p

I hate these kinds of marketing techniques.

Every thing Robin Robins preaches is good marketing and you can find the information in the business section of Barnes and Noble. Nothing she sells is worth the $1000 she wants for it.

She is a strong believer in mail marketing and has some good ideas that work. But so do others.

All the above is true except for this - her various plans\methods etc. are well worth the money BUT only if you put them into action.

I bought one of her courses 6 years ago. Cost about $2.5K total over six months. The amount of business it brought me over the intervening period has been certainly 100 times what I paid if not more. And that was without properly implementing what she was teaching. In fact I made the full price of the course the first week I used it.

I know people that have bought Robins material and have been very successful. I know others that have bought it and said it was useless.... But, all that said they bought it and it did not work admit they did not really do everything she said to do.

Its a ton of content and yes expensive but I actually thing you can get results.

I have been involved with her materials for about 10 years. It is great stuff but it is up to YOU to actually learn and use her materials for it to work. It wont work by itself :)

I am starting their toolkit training again for about the 3rd time with hopes that I will start using it the way it is supposed to.

I know a lot of companies that have been very successful with her stuff.

Ugh...for over a year my inbox was jammed with her spam.

Funny, never got any spam from her. She tends to be prolific with the emails alright but she's also a stickler for staying on the right side of your CAN-SPAM act.

For anyone here who's interested she's doing a webinar tomorrow about getting MSP clients via Adwords. http://www.technologymarketingtoolkit.com/googleleads

Do you mean as "LUMPY" mail?

The $1 letter is used in many many fields as a direct mail tactic and tends to increase response rate.

However, a crappy letter will lead to a crappy result, dollar or no....

What about taking that $2500 and paying a firm to do the same thing?? ie- what would a $2500 marketing budget by you? (I don't know, I'm asking).

Those marketing packets always annoyed me. I don't have time to sit down and read all that crap!

I remember one time when I worked for someone else, they sent a little plastic monkey with their marketing stuff. We ended up taking it outside and lighting it on fire. We considered sending it back to them, but I don't think we ever did.

You don't have time to read marketing material but you do have time to set stuff on fire! Interesting.... :D

I bought the RR toolkit... I haven't even begun to scratch the surface of it but the two things I did do ended up making me more than what I paid for it..
Probably stuff you could figure out on your own but I have better things to do than guess what will work and what won't.
