Remote Support Software for Single Tech / Sole Operator

@Larry Sabo Their prices are in Euro-do they sell to USA? I tried it and liked it too. Thanks for the recommendation.
@Wendy, I paid in USD, IIRC. I'm in Canada. They sell world-wide but from their European base, I believe. The only thing I'm missing badly, is a file transfer capability other than copy-paste. File transfers are glacially slow; it's faster to down load from a web site than to transfer files from my system using cut-paste. I like their notification window that says "Larry was connected to your computer" after I disconnect. It re-assures customers that I can't connect without their knowledge.

I purchased the Lite Version back in November under $70 USD. Got the e-mail with the information and Key pretty quickly.
I'm always on the lookout for a (cheaper) alternative to Teamviewer, but after checking out their site for prices, they are actually more expensive than what I currently pay for TV, Then there's the 'File transfer issue' that @Larry Sabo alluded to above.
Does Anydesk record the session?

Comment on the file transfer thing. At the moment all OS's still have CLI FTP which will operate over the native pipe speed and not throttled like what happens via one of these remote support app. Beyond conventional server OS's many NAS's offer FTP as well. Just need port forwarding setup on the your modem/router.

Interesting thing on the prices, even for the Lite?

I purchased that even though I don't do that much remote support but more so for Unattended Installations for the clients I do manage. Definitely has paid for itself 10x over it seems. The fact that they added the iOS and Android support is a huge plus for me.

File transfer isn't such a big thing for me since I barely use it.

I agree. I barely have to use transferring of files. If I need a file larger than say 10mb, I carry a portable FileZilla on my iODD that connects only to my server back at the shop. And honestly, I know copy|cut & paste isnt what most want, but the speed to "transfer" through FTP or by C&P is not that drastic in speed difference.

I think the main reason C/P is so slow for me, is my crippled upload speed: 0.9mbps. :(
That most certainly could be the case Larry. I have 150 x 75 so for me C/P is not an issue, even on larger files. I have actually C/P a 480mb file in under 2 mins. Rarely do I ever have the need to C/P anything as 99% of the software I need is on my iODD.

I was sorry to see AnyDesk used by scammers to scam my customer out of $473 CAD yesterday. I guess, like many of us, they have switched from Ammyy Admin to something not blocked by virtually every AV and browser out there. I hope it doesn't become a widespread practice and erode AnyDesk's good name.

Ouch! That is awful to hear.

Teamviewer, LogMeIn, AMMYY Admin and many others have been used, so I guess the scammers are just working their way through each one until, as you say, "they have switched......to something not blocked by virtually every AV and browser out there."
I had several clients who were scammed via Teamviewer, consequently, they are really touchy about seeing it on their screens.
Luckily, I can use my own branding which helps a lot!

Just wanted to hijack this thread.. to ask if folks using Anydesk are still happy with it?

I am currently on a months trial... trying to figure out the finer points of it.

thanks

Yup absolutely! Not sure what plan you are looking at using but currently I am using the Lite version and it works out great for me. Having unlimited unattended installs and being able using the Mobile app is great.

Really happy with the speed and response as well. Great alternative to Team Viewer.

Currently only using SplashtopSOS but get frustrated trying to explain to clients how to download, then wait for the code, which doesn't always appear.

I tried Splashtop for a bit and I just didn't like it. Felt it was too cumbersome. I feel AnyDesk is extremly straight forward. Add the license to your main desktop that you be remoting in and start installing all the clients on each device.

I put my business clients on Unattended and the remaining on On Demand.
