Hi,

I'm hoping to get some great advice here. I run a one man IT company for the last 10 years concentrating on residential customers. Today I was at a new prospect, it's an office running 20 desktops and a 03 server. They are looking for a new technician to take of from their current guy who seems to have screwed up for than once.

I'm looking to see if any of you Technibble folks know of a good remote access platform that would be suitable for such an office. I currently run logmein free on a few residential customer's PC and Logmein Rescue ($1000/tr) for on request support. I like logmein free because it's always on and doesn't need the end user to be available if the PC is on. But it's limited, for instance it doesn't have file transfer features. Has any one else tried a differnet platform who supports multiple PCs.

Also this new prospect wants me to include Antivirus. Other than the standard 1 yr subscription based products i know of, what are your opinion of endpoint by sysmantec. It's kind of pricy. anyother options?

Thanks for now

B

What you have already is fine. Why would you need anything else for remote access?

Antivirus for me means Eset Endpoint (either Antivirus or Security).

Tons of threads about MSP packages here.....tons of 'em. Most of those include an antivirus...and when you resell it through your management product...you'll make a lot more than reselling a straight out AV product.

A lot of people around here that are just starting out like GFI for their management package. I use N-Able...it's pricier, IMO you get a little more out of it but it does cost more. And GFI, although newer to the scene, is picking up the pace nicely.

I am one of the GFI users here and it should do exactly what you want and includes a managed antivirus based on VIPRE. Also pay for what you use.

I am also a GFI user and am very happy with them. Very affordable and they offer a 30 day trial period. They also have file transfer capability I'd say give them a try and see if they are what you're looking for.
