Is there a good brand to use? I tried a couple off Amazon and it seems they run out faster than the OEM brands. Is the cost savings really worth it?

Places like Staples also offer reman consumables and their prices are competitive with others. But if someone is not really high volume I tell them they are better off just using OEM. I had a call several years ago at the Google office in Boston for a HP CLJ. According to the PoC they only printed only 2-3k per month on this machine. They were using reman cartridges and I went through close to $1k of those until the printer was printing properly. Penny wise, pound foolish as the saying goes.

I've not tried Staples myself, but I have a couple clients that use their reman ink cartridges and are routinely disappointed by the quality. And yet, they keep using Staples because it's convenient.

In the UK I get my inks from refreshcartridges.co.uk and in the very rare even that I get a faulty cartridge they have always replaced immediately with no questions asked. I've only really got a decent amount of experience with their Canon reman cartridges so far though.

I've found buying them off Amazon in the past to be very hit and miss, mostly miss. It's just too easy for poor quality companies to sell there.

Don't my research and found that LD has some great reviews. I just ordered my first set directly from LD's website. Will see what they are like when they get here.

If something doesn't work or goes wrong they bend over backwards to make it right. Usually Next Day replacements.

I don't have a shop so I can't keep stock. I am a mobile computer repair business. I will be telling people about LD ink once I've tested it. The reviews look good so far.

This is really tempting. I've got an HP color laser and it takes this set of cartridges:

https://www.ldproducts.com/HP/Compatible/Laser-Toner/4-pack/410X/74798-Product.html

$155 for the set of four. HP original high yield cartridges are $210 each for the three colors and $155 for black high yield. $785 vs $155!

Based on some of you posting that you really like LD I'm tempted to give them a try.
Just placed my order. This is a big step for me, as I'm always advising people against doing this. But to save $600 it's worth a shot.

Wanted to post and mention I got it for 18% off with their Labor Day coupon LDLABOR for it was only about $130.

When done correctly refilled/remanufactured and to some extent compatible cartridges do work and are a good alternative. Refilling/remanufacturing is part of my business. It can be very much a case of "You get what you pay for". Most consumers dont know the difference between refilled, remanufactured and compatible and only buy on price and quite often get stung.
We guarantee everything we sell, some cartridges we do in house, others we buy in but we are very selective of where we buy from and they are trade distributors.

My advice would be to go for remanufactured cartridges only on a laser machine, i do not advise compatibles at all. If there are no remanufactured/refilled toner cartridges, only compatibles there is usually a reason for it...it doesnt work properly (yet).
On inks its a little different, certain compatibles work better than anything refilled.

This is sometimes difficult to follow as some retailers will label their goods incorrectly calling remanufactured refilled or compatible and vice versa. Price is usually a good indicator though. One example would be a high yield HP toner, a compatible would cost me £31.39 +VAT to buy in, a remanufactured on would cost me £63.33 +VAT so a retailer could easily sell a compatible for less than i could buy a remanufactured cartridge.

Any customer with high print volumes goes on a printer lease, $85/month 1.7 c black and white 7c colour.

Includes maintenance and toner.
