Reliable, quick and easy drive image

I used to use Acronis, but about 2-3 versions ago it got buggy and bloated. These days I use redo. I have it on a multi-boot 16 gig flash drive. Great UI and works well.

Yeah, the reviews for the newer versions of Acronis are pretty scary. I still have the 2009 version which works pretty good, but I'd like to move to something else as I'm sure there will probably be issues with newer SATA controllers not being recognized.

That's good to know about Redo, I'm looking forward to start using it.

I have used most of the ones mentioned in this thread and like everything else it really comes down to personal preference but I can say for myself I purchased o&o diskimage a few months ago and would never look back.

Been using Macrium reflect - even an older version worked well. Newest version seems to be working well, also.

Replaced an HDD - got windows all fresh, WinUps, AV installed, etc. Ready to go... when I start hearing a weird noise as the laptop shuts down. As the new HDD was spinning down, it made a very distinct noise. I first thought it was the fan; but nope.

I made an image. Went and exchanged the drive for another one, threw image on. Booted first go.
sfc /scannow found some stuff and fixed 1st go around. Did it again, no errors.
Granted, I wonder if I would have gotten sfc errors before the re-image....

Either way, so far so good.
