Reimage.com Experiences

Now I have to go through the pain of filing a fraud report with my CC company.

Just a consideration for others looking at the product.

Send me a PM with your info and i'll contact them about the situation. No reason to have to go thru a fraud report ect if you don't need to.

Will do. I don't want to make a huge deal, but I have no intention of making a voluntary contribution to their pension fund.

Companies need to efficiently honor their warranties.

Great clean up job by Reimage

Customer had two problems (and probably more but that was all presented) both registry related. He could print from some apps but not from Outlook Express. And when logging on he would get an error saying that the registry was corrupt and needed to be restored.

Twenty minutes with Reimage and all was fixed.

This is the kind of thing at which Reimage excels. And of course in addition to cleaning up that particular set of issues the routine looks at previous program problems (crash logs) and fixes the dll problems that caused them. A proactive tool.

I've had a few of these and now look for them specifically for using Reimage.

I'm not thrilled about letting an unknown tool loose on a customers machine. That seems entirely irresponsible. A customer brings me their computer because they believe I know what I'm doing. I believe I know what I'm doing because I have faith in the tools that I use. I have that faith because I (usually) know exactly what those tools are doing.

Until I know exactly what Reimage is doing to a computer, I will not use it. And I don't understand the beta-testing of a product on a computer that isn't mine.

You'll never know what it does till you use it... Catch 22.

Then make a drive image of your own PC, screw it up and let ReImage fix it. That's what I did and I was impressed. I've used it quite a few times and it tells you exactly what it is going to fix before you allow it then you have logs to see what it did as well as an option to put it back to the way it was.

That's a good idea, thanks.

Hey, it's just another tool for your technician's toolkit. Use it when the situation fits and use all your other skills and tools for when it doesn't. I've used it successfully on two occasions, but it's not a panacea for all ills, and I'm not going to treat it like it's the Second Coming of Christ and throw all my other things out the window.

I think part of the problem people have with Reimage is trying to figure out ahead of time, without trying it beforehand, exactly what it does, where it fits in your bag of tricks, when it's appropriate to use it and when it's not. My advice? Sign up for the free trial and use it on a couple machines that you were about to nuke 'n pave anyway. If it works for you... great, add it to your stable. If not, feel free to say "it's not for me." and keep on doing what you know best and works for you. :)

ReImage- Color me...uh ok.

I tried Re-Image on 4 systems today. The average time was 45 min. I seemed to have to do many of the same cleanup tasks after ReImage was finished. Wasn't blown away but will continue using free trial and I will make up my mind on it later.

Has anybody had any luck with the CD boot version?

This has been shown as "unsupported", but is indispensible from my perspective.

I had zero luck with it. Just crapped out......

The boot cd worked for me but I have to be honest, I am not impressed with their product as it didn't work that well for me. When you say crapped out, did it at least boot with the cd or no?

I connected and then it started to dl (activex??) and the twirl came up and sat for hours. Happened on a couple of computers.

I I don't have a problem with the failure as much as the "unsupported" tag placed on a critical component much like software makers showing everything as Beta, so bugs are "to be expected". (I guess we have Google to thank for that routine.)

I used Re-Image on a system that had BSOD. After it completed it worked again. However, can't get the Re-Image boot laoder to go away. Always pops up after reboot. I am more likely to use it now.

Re-Image

I tried to get a trial with these guys, filled in the form and had the perfect PC to test it on.

They never got back to me! Great customer service!!

Shame.

I love it. I have had an account for a few months now. Its a great tool and is useful on a lot of the jobs I work on. I would say 2 out of every 5 XP jobs I use it on. And that turns into 10-12 times a week. With a success rate (meaning it solved at least most of the problem) of a good 80%.

It really is a useful tool and I would hate to work without it now.
