Refining my Laptop Repair Tools

I want to refine my notebook tools. What I currently have is a simply 6 x screwdrivers kit for laptops.

There are multiple kits on ebay that are better than what I have, 32 kits etc... But, there's nothing better in asking TNers about the right tools. I don't usually go for cheap tools, just like anything else.

Have checked out ifixit.com, but the shipping is a little bit expensive to where I'm from.

I am specifically looking for a good set of screwdrivers that have all needed kinds of drivers. Also good tweezers to disassemble items (laptops, etc...). Any other tools you'd recommend are more than welcome.

Thank you :)

I bought several kits of different kits, and found the screwdrivers would all strip out the head after a while. I finally went to Sears and got a Craftsman brand 6 in 1 screwdriver (actually, I got 3 of them so my techs would all have one available). It's one of the best purchases I've made - two different size Phillips head, 2 different size Regular head, and two different size nut drives, one of which typically fits the case screws on most towers. In particular the screwdriver tips are rock solid after significant use. They were about $10.00 each. Don't know if you can find something similar in your area, though.

Edit: I just realized you were talking laptop, not specifically desktops. The small tip on this driver actually fits many of the screws on laptops as well, so it often works for us there. We also bought a kit from Radio Shack with about 15 different tips that work well on laptops.

I bought a pair of plastic levers from ebay that are very useful for parting cases, hinge covers and the like, was only about £2

If you are talking specifically about precision screw drivers, then just go to your local hardware store and pick up a pack for $5. I picked up a few packs a couple years ago from lowes and they still work great. Once piece of advice I can give is to go with plastic not metal, metal hurts your hands.

For laptops I have a 6 piece Stanley set paid 6 or 8 bucks for it.
Also have these blue plastic tools that came with a digitizer/glass kit
for an iphone I did a while back, cost of that whole kit was about $11 I think.

Have had this 30pc precision screwdriver set for a little over a year and love it. All the bits I need (phillips, flat, hex, torx), very comfortable rubber grip handle, magnetic, sturdy plastic case with nice holder for all the bits. Put the top against your palm and it is super quick and easy to spin with one hand. This has made me way more efficient with laptop repairs especially when I'm having to remove 30 or 40 screws. Highly recommended!

tri-wing screwdriver
torx set
guitar picks
copper shims
spudger
canned air
pure bristle paint brush
a large magnet for re-magnetising tools
hot glue
epoxy resin - for chassis repairs - or plasti-steel
epoxy glue

tri wing screwdrivers are difficult items to procure in a time of need, and are necessary on some machines.
