Well, I've tried everything I know and even had someone else look at my friend's HP DV9000 with the 'faulty screen' issue and, combined with the words of wisdom and help from you guys here, it's now declared as a GPU/mobo problem, so my friend is happy to scrap it.
He's looking to spend in the region of £400 to £500GBP and would like some suggestions as to a decent, reliable laptop in that price range. I don't sell laptops and I haven't been in business long enough or had enough come through my hands to see a pattern of which to avoid, so may I throw myself at your mercy again and ask what you folks would recommend? I think it's safe to say that he doesn't want to go with HP again though
Thanks
