What PSU in the $30 - $40 range would you recommend?

I've been installing the COOLER MASTER eXtreme Power Plus (460W). It's gotten some good reviews for a PSU at $30.00 + shipping.

That's what we've been stocking for quite a while. Haven't had any trouble with them.

I have seen the coolermaster elite for that price range, but not the extreme. I have bought the elite 460 from frys for $35 if I need one that day.

That's what we've been stocking for quite a while. Haven't had any trouble with them.

These have a 2 year warranty. Are there any vendors who honor that warranty from the date of repair -- not from the date that YOU bought it? I'm assuming that the PSU might sit on the shelf for a while.

buy them from a distributor, and become a authorized dealer for them.

I'm in Southern California. What distributors ought I consider? Evertek? Who else? I hate paying California tax.

I tend to use the OEM cooler masters. £28 but come with no retail packaging. Not sure how much they are in the USA.

I also tend to use FSP power supplies too which are £20.00 for a 400w and very good for low end systems.

Higher up the rage I tend to use the higher end Coolermaster or Corsair ones.

The COOLER MASTER Elite 460 is about the best power supply you can get for $30. I usually use it for budget computer builds and low end residential clients.

For mid-range computer builds and business workstations I like to using these 2 power supplies that usually cost $45+shipping. Antec EarthWatts Green EA-380D or CORSAIR Builder Series CX430 both with a 3 year limited warranty.

However, I just found this one today. COOLER MASTER GX 450W 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply with 5 year limited warranty.

I stick with high quality name brands when it comes to PSU's

Antec, Corsair and so on....
