I wanted to thank everyone who took a look at my site and provided feedback. I made some of the changes today. I think it is better, but it still needs work.

Excellent! It looks a lot better and actually likes pretty nice too. Great job.

So back to the thread topic. I like how honest and personable you are on your website. However, I think there is too much going on altogether. When customers go to your site, they're looking to decide if they want to use your service or not, and you can help them decide quicker if there was less content packed with more meaning. Also, the website feels out dated, and that makes customers think that your skills might be outdated as well. I hope this is not offensive. I'm sure that you are a competent tech and have great customer service. However, most customers will make a judgement of your business within 10 seconds and it won't be based off of your content. Just my humble opinion...

Well nevermind most of my previous post. It looks much better now. Congrats! However, the navigation menu is still kind of confusing. Maybe put the sub-categories on the left and leave the main links up top?

Hi Trapped..

To be honest I think you need to start from scratch on your design, the content itself is fine. But I would think that a professional tech would have a professional website to convey the image that 'he/she' is infact a professional :)

If I was lookin' for a tech to fix my pc, stumbled across your site, I wouldn't hire you ( no offense ). Just for the fact it looks like a 13 year old whipped somethin' up in FrontPage.

Download DreamWeaver, or even better, CoffeeCup. And start from scratch.
If you don't know HTML, CSS or anything of the likes, go for something like Joomla.

Spruce up your site a bit, make your company look professional.

At the end of the day, your business, your website, just my opinion.

Cheers,

Methical

The thing is he doesn't have the ability to make a professional looking website since he's not a professional designer. He might be interested in using a professional- but they cost a lot of money (I should know, I used to be one)

He can however use a free template off the web though- I never knew a place for good free temlates, but he can also go to Template Monster

I realize I'm eventually going to need to hire a professional, I'm just trying to do the best I can with what I have for now.

Thanks again for all the feedback. I'm really impressed by the number of people on the forum that took the time to take a look at my site. I usually average around 19 unique visitors a day and I have had almost 150 today.

Well, it's basically going to just be an email when my service is offline, and a live chat when I'm online. I doubt anyone will really use it when I'm online- but it's a nice way to generate business when I'm offline and also it fills up the space in the header :D

Here's a little more of what I got so far.

Nice looking site! I think that is one of the better looking ones so far.

Might want to change the word to read Recover your data, not Recovery your data though on the right. ;)

:P I didn't check the spelling yet. In fact it wont even say any of that later...that's just much better than a Lorem Ipsum. That space is actually going to be dynamic with 5 of my latest sales, promotions and other stuff.

Right on, I hope you save your work as you go and don't need to recovery your own data. :p

Looks great though, I really like it.

I have a NAS- as well as other backup measurements. To this day I've never had a single byte of data loss besides maybe the possible rare data-decay ;)

Haven't fired up my own NAS in some time, it's currently filled though so I can't add to it, thanks to a friend from NASA that dumped a ton of ISOs on it way back...nothing secretive though darnit!

Got a new 1.5TB on the way and two external enclosures though, also a new UPS as this one even after replacing the batteries has some issues, one is the constant alarm every so often that has me so eager to get the new one so I can destroy this one possibly...I have considered taking the 40 cal to it on several occasions!

That was really warm...
