What do you guys think?

Any ideas on how I can make it better?
I am going to start putting them out next week so I will let you know how well they work.

The door hanger looks good enough to get some calls!

I would encourage you to describe the "PC Tuneup package" on your website so that customers will have an idea of what that is worth to them. Alternatively, you could put a price on it by naming it "$40 PC Tune-up" on the door hanger. ... or both.

I had a local print shop print them. I designed them. They provided the paper and did the printing for $60 for 500 which I thought was a pretty good deal. I figure two new customers and it pays for itself. Yeah I am going to add the special to my site. The next run I will definitely add a price to the tune up. I am targeting neighborhoods by the cost of houses and I am going to pay some kids to hang them. I well let you guys know how well they work. Any other suggestion to improve it would be great.

great idea

thats terrific, I reckon you will get lots of work from it - the only thing is some people might think they get the freebie just for making the phone call not actually having a job done - good luck with it I think you're on a winner! very innovative

hey I clicked on your website to have a look - loved the colour scheme and nearly fell off my chair laughing at this typo on your site - is the site in sicily?:D -

We off our customers .....

so I can get my computer repaired and have a hit done for the same low price ...... (no offence - but it made my day)

The design is clean and easy to read. As PatrickB said, I'd breakdown what is included in a PC Tune up. I'd either do it on the back of the door hanger or put something on the front like "See website for details."

A few off topic questions for you.

1. What part of Delaware are you in? I've lived in Kennett Sqaure, close to the Delaware border.

2. How long have you been doing this?

3. How's business been over the last 6 months?

I only off the ones that don't pay. Yeah the next batch I am going to put the details on the back and add the "see website for details". Thanks for the good idea.

printplace.com

I've done quite a bit of door hangers and I use printplace.com for my printing needs. If you would like to cut down on your costs I would recommend using them, for instance 5000 door hangers would cost you $295 w/o shipping. In my experience with door hangers they work well but you must put alot out there. Don't be discouraged if you put out 500 without a response. Good luck and they look great!!!

as far as the pc tuneup, for the most part computers are slow today due to spyware/viruses, do you try to up-sell the free tune-up to a removal?

I have distributed about 250 of my intial 500 and I have not yet received a call. I am going to disburse the other 250 and than give it one last shot and order another round of 1000. Wish me luck.

return on investment

Just to let you guys know I've put out door hangers before where after two months someone called me back. On the flip side I've put out 1000 before without getting a call or 100 and got two calls. You just never know. Also, be flexible if one design doesn't work try something else. Just keep putting them out.

Ditto. Door hangers are not an immediate response media but it has worked for me. The home-owners seem to hang on to them for a while. :)

@ACG, I targeted upper-class homes in local downtown areas. I've never done condos.

Door Hanger Retention

What is the main problem with door hangers? Anyone... Anyone... retention. Seriously, lets be realistic most people take your door hanger and throw it away, unless they have a problem with there computer right then and there. So here is something I thought of to increase retention it will take a little work but i think your return on the time and money invested will be worth it. Most people have a use for refrigerator magnets, so get some business card sized magnets made up but don't put your business card on it do something cool with your logo and a $ off deal. This way it has utility (can hang stuff up on there refrigerator) and it has and monetary value (whatever amount your $ off is). Look at the bottom of my door hanger in one of my previous posts on this thread that will give you an example of what I am going to do. Then get some "fugitive" / "booger" / "credit card" glue dots and slap a magnet on each door hanger you put out. Bam!! a recipe for higher retention.
