I have a client who left a company and they gave him his computer. It was used on their domain, now it is not.

Is there a quick way to move all his data and Outlook settings to a local account?

Is it a laptop? Just leave it as is...let him walk with it. Will continue to log in to the same domain profile even without being on the office network. "cached credentials" is what does it.

Smart to take control of the local Administrator account though..change password, enable it..just so you have a back door.

Or can create a new local user, and very simply copy 'n paste his Docs/Pics/Music/Desktop/Faves. Wicked fast 'n easy to just copy 'n paste those in Explorer.

Hard to suggest what to do with his Outlook....don't know what his current setup is...Exchange? Pop? .PST files are portable to different profiles though..so it's easy.

What StoneCat said if the user is in the admin group so they can install programs, etc. But there may be restrictions from GP. Ideally you want to move the computer off of the domain. I've done this a few times and was only successful when I had a local admin account to use. Do the user backup first and then move the computer to workgroup. Even then I've seen some odd things hanging around from GP. My memory may be faulty but I seem to remember you can use Nordhal's utility to enable the Administrator account if it's disabled or clear the password. Linky below.
