QB Bulk Delete Estimates

You didn't specify which version of QB but if it's one of the more recent versions - mucking about in the DB is not going to end well. Another thing you need to be aware of: When you delete an estimate that has had an invoice created from it you are also going to impact the invoice record as well. Not a good thing if he needs to retain historical accuracy.

I can't see how deleting 9k estimates in bulk is going to turn out ok in any scenario. Make sure there is a good QB generated backup of that file.

2010. And your concerns are well grounded. Ty.

Does he use the year end close out? Does he need 10 years old data still? I tend to back up everything over 5 years old and only keep 5 years worth of current data in my active QB file.

How do you close out old years?

Does this reduce file size?

if we were deleting estimates, I don't see how this impacts invoices.

Estimates are tied to invoices when you convert the estimate into an invoice. The estimate is still there since the invoice probably doesn't match it and if you delete an estimate that was used to create an invoice QB doesn't like it.

I can't find where the end of year function. I updated to 2016 this year and hadn't looked for it yet. Guess I better find it if it's still there
