I have a backup .pst file from Outlook (from a different pc) that I would like to import to Outlook Express. the outlook express is looking for .wpa files.
Can I import the .pst file into Outlook express??

pst files

If you go to File > Import in Outlook Express you should have an option to import a PST file.

It has the option for .lidf files, eudora pro, ms exchange personal address book, ms internet mail for windows 3.1 address book, netscape address book (v2 or v3, netscape communicator address book (v4) and text file (.csv)... No .pst can I find.

Windows 3.1??? Seriously did you lose your address book and find it years later??? Wow. lol.

You need mapi for outlook installed, you could just get the trial version of office, convert it over then uninstall it.

I did a quick google and there are pay software to do it, but nothing free that is quick and easy. Another case of vendor lock-in in a proprietary format. Ironically the same vendor!!! Plus if you paid for outlook why would they want to make it easy to go back right???

Sorry, did y'all not read Chris's (GeekHelp4U) post? Outlook just needs to be installed for the import to work. So install a trial of outlook 2007, import the existing pst to that THEN import that into OE.
