program control for users

A client is using a laptop for his children, and he wants to use “program control” (not internet control, I know about K9) for example user 1 should not use Word user 2 should not be able to use a game etc,

Anyone knows of a program that would do this?

Group Policy? It sounds like you want to restrict the use of Solitaire and other games.. GPO and GP MMC would be you friends in this scenario.

with gpo it's either yes or no, but what i need is on a user lavel, for each user a different setting,

I believe Kaspersky Internet Security has parental controls that can do this.

Assuming this is a version of Windows that has the ability to set permissions, then you can just change the permissions for the application executable to deny the some users access to it.

You'd also want to make sure they are standard users so they cannot user admin credentials to take control and alter the settings themselves.

they have 73 programs!! i am just loking for for a nice GUI that should do it for me.
