Greetings,

I just got a domain name. I had to give up and use my name because I could not come up with that magical name that will make everyone call.

Anyways, since I am broke I use free hosting. You cant tell unless you look way down at the bottom of the page.

The site does not have any flash or animation. Is a basic template. I am still working on it like adding more services and content.

So, I know its skimpy but over all how does it look?
How about the keywords that I used? Did I use too many?
I just learned from this forum about SEO so I am reading up so see how I can implement that to my site. I added my site to google maps yesterday but it still wont show up.

With this site what can I do (without using money cause really I am broke) do get my site to be in the top of a web search. How can I also make it come up in neighboring counties.

Thank you for all the support.

Do you work during the day and would like your computer or laptop look at a time that is best for you?

Hope this doesn't come off as being mean but, how exactly do you start a business with absolutely no money? You can't even afford $5 a month for a website? What about basic testing hardware/software and common parts like memory? Honestly, if you can't afford $5 a month....how do you afford gas? Please tell me you don't have a family that is relying on this, if so I would strongly recommend you get a reliable job and do this part time since it will take you time to get clients. Even if your living at home, you should work on saving money from a more reliable job so you can invest into your business, you will be more successful that way.

You are not being mean and it does not offend me.

Well, I got laid off twice. I live in an area (Orange County, CA, US) where large companies have gone bankrupted. There are a million techs and 2 jobs (exaggeration to show the non existent jobs). My un-employment which I am getting the max amount covers the rent and part of the food. Yes I have a family.

I know how to budget my money. My business card are professionally made but cheap quality. I fix a PC and that money goes to pay my personal bills and then to (as I did a couple of days ago) buy a domain or what I need. I don't have $5 a month to spare if I did I would get a hosted site. I dont drive unless I have to. I am resourceful and will do what it takes to make what I have work. If it means I cant go out for 6 months so that I can have money for my family and then to maintain my business then I wont go out. As far as tools goes, well I dont have a power supply tester, do I want one? yes, do I need one? no well yes but not really. Software tools, plenty of them and free tool. Would I like to purchase some that may be better and easier to use yes, but I don't because I don't the money.

Can I advertise? Well, yes, I would like to do color fliers but could probably only afford a few. So maybe black and white which can look cheap. I will spend time working an a flier (which I have been) will go to kinko's and make about $5 dollars worth of copies.

As for a steady job. Well I get calls for jobs everyday. I am now expanding the distance I am willing to drive. I have done many interviews both in person and over the phone. Many times I have reach the final stages of the process only to find out that the position is closed or another person was picked.

Get the point? Yes, starting with $500 would be great but I don't have that kind of money and if I did I would rather pay bills or buy food.

I guess part of it is that I have faith that it will work out eventually. Praying daily and going to church helps (yes I have been doing this way before the economy took a dump).

Lets see what else can I say . . . . . .

Few things form me.

1. What area do you service? You need that somewhere.

2. Do you do on-site, drop off and pick up services? You might want to mention that too.

3. I would add more pictures and fill the space a little better.

4. You font size is huge. Just my opinion.

5. Do you service residential and business?

6. Explain what some of your services actually are.

You can always look at your local competition and see what they are using for key words. To show up in Google local, it's probably going to take a couple weeks. I would work on optimizing your site first. Then you can start selecting source to put your site in, like Yellowpages, Getfave, Merchant Circle and so on. The more links to your page the better. You could also start a blog later.

Yeah, the empty space in the front page was supposed to be a picture but I cant find it.

I have looked at my competitors and I am using pretty much the same keywords.

You are correct, I dont have anywhere stating what locations I will cover.

The font is kind of big. It was smaller because of a picture I was doing to use. For the template it was easier for me to make the font bigger until the pic I want to use is found.

I stated working on explaining about the services. I noticed who cheap it looked this morning.

Let me tell you that running your own business is not joke. If I am not working on a client I am working on either fliers I want to use or updating my craigslist ads etc. Now its the website. I guess once I a better grip on things I'll have more time and wont feel like I spend all day working on the same thing.

Thank you for your input.

i see you are using yola.com, nothing to be ashamed of, i do as well and like you i dont have much money and building the business up on a budget, which can be done and takes time, have a look at mine if you want some ideas for layouts, themes etc, www.scottspcservices.co.uk hope it helps mate.

Have you looked into google sites? https://sites.google.com/

I haven't done sites yet. It seems it would be another website. So basically by making this site I can use it to link back to by real site. I think its called cross linking? I will look into it thanks

:) I saw your site a few times but when I started with yola it I saw your template. I went with black. How did you get the form under the contact us? Is it something I can I from the dashboard or did you get that from elsewhere?
