So, I have finally recovered from the a$$rape, errr.... constructive reviews that I have received about my website in a previous thread viewed here:

http://www.technibble.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27711

The website www.oldschoolpc.net has been completely revamped using a free Wordpress theme. I removed the footer because it sucked, added a E-mail contact form, used a transparent gif for "Old School PC Services" on the main page, and added content. Positive and constructive criticism is requested, as my stitches are still sore. :)

It makes my eyes hurt looking at it.

I agree. It's definately high impact, but like you said, maybe a bit too much :)

Vast improvement on the last website. I'd have the links moved to across the top as I missed them the first time. The banner could do with some work, I skimmed over it the first time as it looked too much like an advert. In fact looking again i'd get rid of it, you're repeating yourself with what you say below.

It's getting better but still needs alot of work. I really don't like the background, it looks and cheap and very dated.

The banner looks wrong for some reason, it also looks like it on a slant, and I have to tilt my head to correct it. I think thats more of an optical illusion due to the other screens on the left and right of the middle screen.

The IE logo next to the Home link, looks fuzzy. I would also get rid of that.

Do you really need a search bar?

I think If I was you, I would seriously look at 99Designs or 24HrLogo.

Hope that isn't too harsh. :D

TLE.

As I was one of those who ripped you a new one, I think its prudent I also add my 2p on your updated site.

Overall, it is getting better, but still requires a lot of work.

The background although pc related, does detract from your text.

The logo as has been mentioned, does require a lot of work. The colour scheme red, white, blue although is one of the best colour schemes to have from a marketing standpoint, does seem to be fighting against the background.

Again there is no mention of laptops etc. If you repair them mention it on the site.

On the services page, you have a list of things which can go wrong. Do you have these symptoms.. blah, blah.

Answer, well yes i do.

There should be something similar to a if so then we can fix all of the above and more so call us, rather than a simple call us for an appt.

FAQ.s

Q: What happens if you can’t service my computer at the appointed time? Occasionally the PC cannot be fully serviced on the first trip or is unserviceable. We simply charge a diagnostic fee for these rare cases and offer recommendations for replacement or repair. Should we make a 2nd trip out, the diagnostic fee is DISCOUNTED from the new invoice total.

Personally I would lose the diag fee is discounted from the new invoice total, but thats just me.

Finally do you offer remote repair services?, again if you do, shout about it on your site.

Yes I remember your original website. The image of that is now etched into my eyeballs for eternity. Thinking of it again makes my head hurt.

I can say that this revision is an improvement on the old one, but, having said that, pretty much any alteration would have been.

Did you actually read the information in this section of the Forum before the revamp?

If so, you might want to revisit it. Its all here if you take the time to look.

Thats all Im saying. Water, horses; that sort of thing......
