Pic a design

Have a site for a business and it already has a logo but now he wants to switch to a new logo he had done. Problem is I think the new logo looks like a gumby (old school cartoon) thing. Would like some opinions:

Design

Personally I much prefer the old one_ but then I'm an old fogy and don't usually much care for the new styles.

The older one looks more professional, except maybe I would change the picture in the background to something else...or

The new logo would look ok with a better font, non italicized, more modern/professional, but I still think it looks too complex for a logo.

Like the old one. The new one really looks too cartoonie and reminds me of AOL. I'm with Styxbound not liking all this new-fangled madness!

I thought the same exact thing. Actually, I think I would drop the pic altogether.

I agree with the others above...I don't care for the gumby logo...although the concept it creates of giving a bit of yourself in trading for a bit of another is a great idea to put into a logo...just not that one. And I really don't like the scale in the background of the first logo...makes it look like an Attorney's office.
