I think you need to brush up on your knowledge of M.2 "keys".

M.2

Edit: Although I can sorta tell what you are hoping to accomplish, perhaps you could explain the issue you have instead of just dropping an Amazon link and pictures? Cause I still scratch my head....I could be wrong when I think what you are trying to do....

HP 15-dw2012ca
According to this HP specs page the drive in that laptop is M.2 NVMe.

Any USB enclosure/adapter for M.2 NVMe drives will work. You could also get a USB enclosure that supports both NVMe and SATA type M.2 drives.

But if you look at the photo, it shows an Intel (Optane?) 12GB SSD. So, not sure.....
But if you look at the specs page for that model, it has 512GB. I think the '5' is just hard to see :)

Optane M.2 SSDs that have the full amount of storage have the optane cache embedded in the main drive. I believe they have the same external interface as a standard M.2 NVMe drive, so similar to the old SSHD hybrid SATA drives in that sense.

Ah, I can see it ever so faintly now.

Anyways, I guess OP wants to copy data off, but as for why/etc still not sure. Hopefully drive isn't having issues or bitlockered....

Also in answer to original question....it looks like all of the adapters are M.2 Sata adapters expect the small one which is a MSata adapter. So not worthless but def time to invest in new gear...

Laptop was dead after taking to Mexico
I had an Envy 360 that I took a trade put SSD in it to copy data

Thanks for the help will order another adapter maybe a multi. don't get a lot of work nowadays

Your photos are all M.2 to SATA now what M.2 they are compatible with is a separate question and the amazon product looks to be a M.2 USB adapter that should work for most modern M.2 drives.

Sabrent makes a good USB enclosure for M.2 NVME drives. I bought one myself and it works perfectly. Found it on Amazon. Sabrent is a good peripherals and SSD brand from what I've seen.
