anyone have a need from a client to recover permanently deleted items from Outlook 2003? i have a client in need and considering which tools for recovery.

thanks for any help. hope i can return same in the near future.

did the google search and reviewing options. this one above i just took a look at but i haven't purchased any obviously. was looking to see if anyone had experience with a proven tool.

it is to recover permanently deleted items, and not to fix a damaged .pst, which most do.

Outlook Recovery

You can try this method to recover the deleted items from the pst file.

1st make a backup of the .pst file and then systematically corrupt the .pst file. After that run scanpst.exe on it and all your deleted emails should be listed again in Outlook. Running scanpst.exe alone will not restore the deleted items.

Here is another utility that will corrupt the pst file - (I would use this one, instead of the debug method).

Note: I forgot to mention that this method will only work as long as the .pst hasn't been compressed. (Using Outlook to compress the file to reduce space)
