I can not figure this out does anyone have optonline and use there webmail? I will list everything already done. Please any suggestions or if I missed something let me know. I have a client who had a 7 year old computer Dell that for the most part was running OK except for optonline webmail very painfully slow literally take 5 minutes to load at times and to open an attachment could take longer. All other websites seemed to run just fine.
I scanned for viruses using malwarebytes, had a few deleted them, ran hijackthis looked ok. still no change everything worked ok except optonline webmail.
Contacted optonline they were no help, did get them to swap out the modem though, still no change.
Tried using firefox no change.
Just for the sake of it I swapped out the router, no change.
I noticed it seemed to be a java based website so i uninstalled java and reinstalled no change.
I connected my laptop to the same network cord his pc is plugged in and it worked fine.
my client's computer is part of a home based plumbing business that has 3 other computers on the same network that he says all are running fine but they dont use optonline webmail
I convinced my client even though everything else runs fine that he got his money's worth out of that 7 year old computer and its time to upgrade.
I built him a computer running Windows 7 64bit
4GB DDR3
Core i3-550 CPU
battle tested it in my office for 3 days ran great. checked his webmail some emails did take about 5 seconds to load but thats it.
Installed at clients site and everything worked great......for about 3 days.
Got a very angry, frustrated call from my client yesterday same thing again.
scanned for viruses using malwarebytes came up with 0.
Another strange thing is I am having trouble remoting the pc using Logmein and I have used that program for 7 years and only had one other instance that it didnt work and that pc was messed up. It freezes and disconnects and reconnects constantly. I was having the same issue on his old computer too.
programs he runs basically pretty generic and basic. Office 2007 Pro, Quickbooks 2005, Omni Pro....he has a brother MFC printer connected via USB
I suggested to use Outlook 2007 to get his mail but he wants webmail to work. Please let me know, thanks!!
