Open Office or LibreOffice

Just wondering which one you prefer and why...

Libre Office seem more popular those day but I prefer the spreadsheet layout of Open Office

Personally, I prefer Kingsoft's free Office Suite: http://www.kingsoftstore.com/

IMO, it looks and acts much more like MS Office than OpenOffice or LibreOffice.

They also have a nice version for Android.

LibreOffice has most of the development momentum these days. The few developers left working on OpenOffice can't really keep up.

I will have a look at this one later, that's what I like from Libre or Open , they are similar to 2003, I means no (big sensure) ribon..

I will second the Kingsoft option. I use it on my ASUS tablet for all of my Office compatible work. It works great.

Thanks for the Kingsoft suggestion. I loaded it last night and have been playing around with it. I like it.

I was intrigue by the similarities between MS Word's and Kingsoft's menus so thought I'd try it. For some reason, it garbled the spacing on my simple test document, which was rendered identically by MS Word and OpenOffice Writer but looked as follows in Kingsoft Writer. Maybe its a default font setting or something. Anyone else experience this and have a simple fix?



Edit: The test document was originally written in MS Word then opened in the other two programs.

Another vote for Libre Office here. While the Kingsoft offering is interesting, Libre Office provides seamless continuity and functionality between my Linux and Windows boxes. The only real issue I've ever had with Libre Office (and Open Office as well), is the issue it sometimes has with the GUI when using dark GTK+ themes.

Well there definitely is a difference in speed when opening the programs. Kingsoft is faster.
