Onedrive Backup & Photos Question

This is an issue with my personal computer.

I am using OneDrive backing up my documents and desktop folders so they can be in sync between my computers.

I also use OneDrive photo upload on my phone.

Today I unzipped a folder to my dekstop containing an app and its associated files, which included a bunch of images related to that software (icons,gfx, etc).

When I look at "On This Day" in OneDrive it shows all the image files from the folder for the software as if they were photographs that I took.

Is there a way to stop random images from showing up as photos?

@Velvis,

I'm very, very late to this party, but from what I can tell, "No."

I have this same issue, but not from anything on the desktop, only under Photos. Years ago I was using a photo organizer from Casio that left a trail of its own HTML files and images for buttons, etc., in many locations in the Photos hierarchy. I'm still slowly but surely deleting these as they show up in the "On This Day" collections.

It appears that if it's an image file extension of any sort, OneDrive is picking it up.
