Hello, today I met Jeff Leventhal, the owner of On Force and many other IT companys. He sent me to the website and I signed up ect. I was wondering if any of you use on force and have any opinions on it. Thank you

I'm sure Jeff is an ok guy, but depending on what work you're after and where you're located, it will likely be sporadic and low-paying. Basically, the low-ball gets the work. I've seen work orders for wiring of demarcs (sp?) for $50-75, plus you never see what the winning bid is when one is "No Longer Available". You used to be able to. OnForce figured that one out, so that you as a "worker" can no longer use this as a rule of thumb to make bids in the future. General PC work/DSL installs usually go for $35-50, but IMO isn't worth messing with, especially if they want you to drive 50 miles to do so.

And, if the work order is any "good", it will be snapped up faster than you can reply to it yourself (bots, perhaps?).

For extra income, sure; other than that, IMO, not so much. Just do your homework when you accept a call; you may find that the company who has the call is slow about paying, or has other issues.

I use OnForce, it has been good to me. I've done two warranty calls for a well known hardware vendor, paid pretty good. Although, I only have six competitors in the area.

I'm going to share the secret to getting the calls "snapped up"... Use a blackberry. Only if it is worth it to you of course.

My BB buzzes to tell me I have mail, I click the link, log into the wap version of the site and get the work order. Easy as that.

My advice, you can never put too much information in the WO and as iladelf said, make sure you read the ENTIRE instructions before accepting.

Good Luck,
EP

Depends on how much competition there is honestly. I've never done any because people here are apparently willing to accept jobs for next to nothing.

Keeping in mind that I don't have much competition here, I have gone back to "the buyer" and asked for more money... OnForce is not something I would rely on to pay my bills consistently but it is a nice change once in a while.

I liked most of it, but dont take any job you dont want to do. I had one job I wasn't sure about and they demanded like a life time warranty for $75... They called like 4 months later although everyone in the store was completely different by then. Yeah no thanks guys!

OnForce

I've been using OnForce since 2006. I've done like 80 work orders so far. I started out getting all that I can, found out later that residentials suck. Commericial ones are good. Just lately they have been going out with a low buy rate - hope it picks back up soon.

If you need more info - you guys can IM/PM me.

Thanks

JM
