Libreoffice has issues installing and running under Windows 8 64 bit. If someone is looking for a budget option consider using http://www.kingsoftstore.com which is free and the full version is cost effective. A quick look at the forums appears to confirm other techs like Kingsoft.

If you or your client require Outlook then consider purchasing Outlook separately and using Kingsoft for the office documents. This is likely a $100 savings over the MS Office Business Suite.

Don't remember experiencing that. Unless it's their newer versions. Just used Libre Office 4.0 something last night on Windows 8.1 64 bit. Maybe check out Open Office also.

I've installed LibreOffice on a bunch of 8x64 machines without problem. From Google, it looks like there is some HP software that the LO installer may complain about but those who used the Ignore button say it went on without problems. Others say that, once installed, it freezes every now and then but that gets blamed on local firewall softwares.
